Vogue 9075 Jumpsuit Review

Very Easy Vogue 9075 jumper looks and feels like spring. The pattern features a modifiable princess-seamed bodice with or without sleeves and a pleated bottom as a skirt or jumper.

I made the jumper as a petite challenge for myself with the bodice without the sleeves. Why a petite challenge? Have you seen the width of these pants on this jumper?

They are insane! Every time I looked at these pants I felt like cringing. But I’m learning to make pattern adjustments to my proportion. If no manufacturer can or will, I should.

The fabric I chose for sewing this jumper was a digitally printed stretch sateen from Minerva.com designed by John Kador. It’s hot pink with girly modern twist of artsy flowers.

Sewing with sateen is a dream because you have the stretch with the complimenets of a woven meaning, it’s fairly stable. Beware though, some sateens like this one, may snag with excessive handling.

Even with gentle handling, while serging I still ended up with some snagged areas.

Future modications for petite bodies:
A petite body can easily be swallowed up in this jumper pattern. The skirt portion is easily modified to get the correct length.

The pants are very big. I actually look like I have a dress until you see me walk or cross my legs.

The bodice fits like a dream with very few modifications. I like invisible zippers and install them in just about any and every pattern that requires a back dress zipper.
General modifications for Vogue 9075
Some now fashion modifications could include changing out the zipper for a classy row of buttons or an exposed zipper in a contrasting color. You could also add a sash, bow, or tie to the waistband.

One point, for me sewing the sleeves + oversized palazzo style bottoms on this jumper was just too much for my frame. So, I eliminated the sleeves when planning to sew the jumper to show more skin.

Next time I will also redraft and taper the pants more on this DIY jumper. Right now, it fits properly BUT I can‘t wear this jumper with flats because the pants overwhem my frame.

To balance this out, I paired the outfit with a very chunky wedge sandal or a high heel. This gave me height and proprotioned the look.
