“The Next Chapter”: A Year of Sewing, Style, and Milestones

Hey, my amazing sewing family!

Can we just talk for a minute? It feels like just yesterday I was hitting ‘publish’ on my very first post, my little corner of the internet carved out to talk about my love for sewing and, let’s be real, to keep my sanity intact. Ten years. An entire decade of sharing projects, debating patterns, celebrating wins, and occasionally seam-ripping our way through a challenge together. It has been one of the most rewarding journeys of my life, all thanks to you.

And now, we’re about to start a new, year-long journey together. This one is extra special. This one is personal.

I’m officially kicking off my “Road to 50: The Next Chapter!”

That’s right, in June 2026, I’ll be hitting the big 5-0. And I’ve decided I don’t want to just let that milestone pass by. I want to run towards it, fabric scissors in hand, celebrating every single step of the way. This next year on the blog is going to be a chronicle of this countdown—a celebration of life, growth, and, of course, a whole lot of making!

So, What Does the “Road to 50” Look Like?

Think of it as our most fabulous, content-packed year yet. I want to explore all the things that make me, me, and share them with you. We’ll be diving deep into our favorite topics and adding a few new layers:

Sewing, Of Course

This is the heart of it all! We’ll be tackling everything from stunning swimwear and cozy fall capsules to those must-have KnowMe patterns. We’ll be celebrating National Sewing Month in September and getting ready for an epic #MeMadeMay next spring.

Petite Style & Fashion

My fellow petites, I see you! We’ll be focusing heavily on creating a wardrobe that fits and flatters, with seasonal guides for spring, summer, fall, and winter. We’re going beyond just sewing to talk about silhouettes, styling, and feeling confident at any age.

Hair & Beauty

You all know I love a good protective style! We’re going to have some real talk about hair, from breaking down different braiding styles to sharing my go-to products and routines for keeping my hair healthy.

Travel

This milestone moment calls for a special trip! I’ll be sharing my travel plans (and my travel sewing plans!) with you, and you know I’ll be taking you fabric shopping with me in new places. First up: a recap of my recent trip to Miami!

Let’s Grow Together (And Have a Giveaway!)

My goal this year is not just to sew and share, but to grow this incredible community. We are so close to hitting 5,000 subscribers on both Instagram and YouTube, and I want to celebrate that with a massive giveaway this fall. Think dream prize pack filled with fabrics, patterns, and notions. It’s my way of saying thank you for being on this ride with me.

This year is about embracing every moment. It’s about feeling good in the clothes we make and the skin we’re in. It’s about looking in the mirror as I approach this new decade and loving the woman, the creator, the friend I’ve become.
